Why not all prayers are answered

How come some prayers get answered and others don’t? Why do we pray sometimes and we get the answer just like we prayed and almost immediately, while some take forever to be answered or not even answered at all? Every single time Jesus prayed He got an answer! Why? – knowing that God loves me with THE SAME measure of love with which He loves Jesus (John 17:23)? What I found is that sometimes or even most times we don’t pray in line with the word of God (either His written word – The Bible or His spoken word); we don’t seek out God’s will before we start praying. We just pray according to how we feel things should be, how people have said things should be, or just what our flesh desires to be i.e. what will be satisfying/gratifying to us, but James 4:3 says When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. In Luke 22:42, Jesus’ first statement was to acknowledge that He still wanted the will of the father above what His flesh desired at the time. You might ask me then, how do I know the will of the father? The word of God reveals the will of God! If you notice, most times we just pray without having or knowing a scripture or a word of or from God that justifies us to have what we are praying for or how we should even pray for what we are praying for. Prayer is an art that must be learned, and it’s principles must be carefully applied at all times if we want to see constant result and answers to ALL our prayers. We also need to know what to pray in every situation – when Jesus took His disciples to Mount Olives in Luke 22:39-40 He told them what to pray – :40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”. In Luke 11 : 1-4 Jesus’ disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray; just as John had taught his disciples, and Jesus taught them. So next time we want to pray or ask for something in prayer, let us find at least one bible passage (thank God for technology, you can just type the word in Google and you will find scriptures) that reveals the will of God concerning what we want to pray for; so that we will be assured that we are praying in line with the will of God, and we can be sure that we will also receive what we are asking for in prayer.

God’s word works!!!

Keep enjoying God’s victory in every area of your life in Jesus name. Amen
